One of those positions is mine. I’ve made the tough decision to leave Microsoft and go back to working for myself. My last day is August 28th.

Truthfully there is no drama here – short of the fact that I’m more than a bit sad that I won’t get to work with/for my friend/hero. It’s an unfortunate case of bad timing – I had made the decision literally at the same time Scott got the bump. But I spose in the end it will save him from the headache of having to deal with me :) . This is a dream job – it’s local *or* remote, working with some very talented people. It’s been an honor to work at Microsoft. The folks there are brilliant and humbling, and the way they treat their employees is first class all the way. I wish all of them the best of luck and good wishes.

One thing I’d like to make very clear: I’m not going to stop what I’m doing. If anything – I’m going to do a lot more of it with, shall we say, a little more of “me” behind it :) . SubSonic is still mine and I’m going to keep on like I always have – I’m just switching employers from Microsoft to … well me.

I’m sure some of you might be curious as to why I’ve made this decision, and let’s just say it comes down to knowing when to say when – and it’s time.

When.
