SubSonic: SonicCast 8 Is Up - Many To Many Relationships

Monday, August 13, 2007 -

We've had an avalanche of questions regarding many to many relationships on our forums, and so I thought it would be a great subject for the next in our series of webcasts!

You can view it here.

This webcast is about 11 minutes long and shows you the generated methods we create for you, the schema we expect, and also how to use the Scaffold and ManyManyList to work with the data.

OFF TOPIC - Migrations are going to be great! ;)

Josh - Monday, August 13, 2007 - Cool mmany-many is pretty basic and nice to see SubSonic handles it nicely...

What's tempting is how easy it would be to prototype a website with subsonic. I would like to use Castle's Windsor Inversion of Control Container.. but it would be so easy to let SubSonic set up the meat of the site.. maybe I'll just have to add in the IoC after the prototype.

kevin - Monday, August 13, 2007 - @josh - you'd def have to let subsonic build out the scaffolding (prototype) first, and then integrate your IOC.

jonx - Monday, August 13, 2007 - Terrific! Thanks a lot Rob for having took the time to explain all that. Short and informative, you said it. It answers all the issues I had. Thanks again.

ps: can't say why, but the flash animation does not play correctly under opera. works under IE or firefox. Also note that the sound is prfect ;)

Question,
Do you have a link to that font tweak you were doing in your demonstration? I'd really like to try it out.

Shawn Oster - Tuesday, August 14, 2007 - Something small and I've already commented about this in the "main" templates but in the MVC templates, at least the ones I could find, you're still using string literals for the property accessors instead of the columns struct.

Are there newer templates out there we should be banging on?
