MVC Storefront Now On ASP.NET

The good guys that run ASP.NET have added the Storefront video series up on ASP.NET, and given us some forums too!

My Bandwidth Is Thankful!
First I want to thank MaximumASP for setting me up with this radical cool groovy server, and looking the other way as my bandwidth clogs their pipes up :). They've been great about everything - many thanks to Chris Morrow and Trish Dever and I can honestly say, without feeling like I've sold out, that MaximumASP rocks.

If you want to watch the vids up on ASP.NET - they have every kind of format ready to go.

Check out the videos here.

I'm not sure why they're calling it a Starter Kit - but I'm alright with that I spose :).

We also now have forums, and while I welcome your comments on my blog here, it might be easier to have a larger discussion (and easier to follow) with the forums:

Check out the forums here.

Yeah...

I found your series up there a couple of days ago and I was hooked!

I really think your approach with using IQueryable<T> is solid. I was trying to find a way to create solid unit tests for my LINQ classes without "spiking" the database and kept on running into issues. I even went through a couple of iterations where I created a base class for my DataContext and had a constructor that took a List<T> as "mock" data.

This worked until I added more than one "table" to my LINQ to Sql class and then it fell flat on it's face. It was really painful... :)

What is really nice about your approach is that in a remoted environment... my "repository" can't be passed since IQueryable<T> is not serializable

Any who... you have some great presentations

One thing, however, is keep in mind that we aren't all in Hawaii :)

Every time you mention the "swell warning" I cringe a little as I sit in my small dark cube... with no windows... and no surf

Keep up the great work. I hope to send you some feedback and suggestions once I get the chance to really dive into the code

This is one another step toward the community project. I hope that this will all turn into a nice community project. Ultimately I would like to be able to use all this in a real web site. This is not incompatible with the fact that you blog about some specific aspects of the project. There are so many aspects to blog about anyway...

Thanks for all the great fun...

One last note. I also second people in the fact that you release the whole recording of your sessions. I love the fact that you try to teach me some cool stuff but I would also like to see what is the exact process that drives you. Of course you may have to remove some private parts. this is understandable. Also you may have some bandwidth problems... But know, I'm interested in all the bits ;) Thanks.

I agree with the editing comment. There is a little to much of it and it would be nice to see the entire process.
